MMI stands for Multiple Mini Interview and is used by a plethora of medical schools to interview prospective medical students.
MMI involves multiple stations consisting of different interview questions or tasks to test a wide range of different capabilities required to be a doctor. This can include an interviewer asking a question, a calculation, a consultation with an actor or a practical task.
The score you obtain from each station is mutually exclusive from other stations. This means if you did poorly in one station, it will not impact on your scores in any other station. All of the station scores will be added up to form an overall score, which will be used by the medical school in deciding whether to offer you a place.
The amount of stations and lengths can vary depending on the medical school. Typically at Way2MEDSCHOOL we offer 10 stations (including 2 rest stations) consisting of 1 minute reading time, 4 minutes for the interview and 2 minutes for feedback.
